In the 1980s, Carolyn Miller, a leading Image Consultant in the U.K., recognised that while the basic four-season colour system was easy to understand, it was too rigid and didn’t fully cater to each client’s individuality. Carolyn evolved the system, adding flexibility to honour every unique skin tone. This innovation led to the creation of the House of Colour system, which quickly became the standard for personalised colour analysis. Based in London, the company expanded by franchising, building a network of skilled franchisees, each with exclusive territories in the U.K.
In 2008, four U.K. franchisees (all women) acquired the company from the retiring directors (also all women), sparking a vision to expand globally. This vision became a reality when we trained our first U.S. franchisee in London in 2010. Since then, we’ve grown into Greece, the UAE, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Ireland and beyond, with continued success in the U.K.
Our system has been perfected over 40 years and is trained to the highest standards across all markets we serve.
